Stomping the Search Engines 2 & The Net Effect

by Editor on September 4, 2008

I have been waiting for a long time for this one. Finally, Stomping the Search Engines 2 from StomperNet is here! I am sure you have heard of StomperNet. Their first big product, back in 2004, was an SEO (Search Engine Optimization) course called Stomping the Search Engines, and that’s what put these guys, Brad and Andy, on the SEO map. Sadly, I missed that one back then. You ask why? Well, the price was $800 per month! That’s not a typo, it’s eight hundred dollars per month! To be fair, what was included in this price was not just the best hands-on training course on SEO at the time, but also a solid ongoing training on all aspects of starting and running a successful Internet Marketing business. It was an investment well worth the price for the lucky people who could afford to become members of the “club” of achievers, or so it appears from the testimonials from many of them.

For those, who are not familiar with SEO (Search Engine Optimization), a short explanation is in order. SEO refers to methods and techniques used by web site owners to make their web sites highly popular with the search engines for certain search terms that people type on Google, Yahoo, and Live Search (formerly MSN Search), when searching for a topic, product or service of interest. The specific goal is for the web site being optimized to appear as high as possible on the first page of the search engine result pages (SERP) for one primary search phrase and a few secondary ones. And this is where the SEO training offered by Stomping the Search Engines was so amazing. Brad and Andy actually had a study conducted where a special camera device would capture the hot spots (where the human eyes focus) on the first page of SERPs! So, if your web site happens to be found in those hot spots (which Stomping the Search Engines teaches you how to do), you are in business! Of course, you need to make sure that the text that appears on the SERP for your web site is one that will attract the visitors’ clicks.

Fast forward to Stomping the Search Engines 2. What is different and new this time? It appears quite a bit is new – on a much higher level and much better. First, the course is video, unlike the first edition, which was audio. Remember the saying “a picture is worth a thousand words”? Well, Stomping the Search Engines 2 is a moving picture, and a very well made one, from the preliminary reviews that I read. Second, the number of contributors is extended to include some of the best and brightest in the SEO field. You may not have heard about all of them, but rest assured, once you implement their tricks and techniques on your web site, it will be very well heard of :)

And here is the big thing that made me so excited about Stomping the Search Engines 2 and so willing to come out and share my excitement on this blog today. It was supposed to be sold for $497, but Brad and Andy decided to offer it for free to get exposure for their new monthly print journal The Net Effect. Now, I don’t know about you, but to me “free” sounds like a good price. The catch? I would not be so quick to call it a “catch”. Yes, you will have to give the journal a try and subscribe. But, guess what. It looks like I can cancel any time. This is either some crazy price testing, or these guys are so confident in their value proposition that they think you would be really, well, out-to-lunch if you decide to cancel. From what I have seen so far, the journal is full of solid information and practically forces you to make your Internet business a success. Head over to the StomperNet site to see the introduction video for yourself. Me? I am waiting no longer, and buying today. I cannot afford to waste this opportunity and miss out if these guys figure out that the price is not right and decide to raise it. Feel free to ask me questions here if you wonder how it looks.
